The Village of Bellevue...Village with a Vision

When the Village of Bellevue did their Master Plan, the plan included a farmers market. Now, it's one thing to put a farmers market in the plan, but quite another to get a farmers market started and have it thrive. As often happens in small, friendly communities, one conversation led to another, and another. Then the Village Council invited the Battle Creek Farmers Market Association to sponsor a market in Washington Park. The Association was willing to give it a try, holding the first farmers market on August 9, 2007. An enthusiastic response from the people in and around Bellevue encouraged the Village and the Battle Creek Farmers Market Association that the community would support a farmers market.

Today the farmers market is held in beautiful Washington Park in the shade of huge old trees. You'll find our vendors in the newly constructed pavilion. There are plenty of picnic tables so that you can grab a bite to eat from our vendors and have a picnic supper while listening to the live music being played under the newly constructed gazebo. Children will enjoy the playground in the park. There's plenty of nearby, free parking along the street. Close enough to make a quick dash to your favorite vendors if  you're in a hurry.

Our family friendly vendors offer a good selection of Michigan grown fresh fruits and vegetables, honey, baked goods, ready to eat foods, maple syrup and maple products, yummy snacks, and more. You'll also find a selection  of hand-crafted items such as soap, personal care products and candles.

Vendors who grow and process local foods, or have products, including crafts, made from Michigan agricultural crops are welcome to become part of the market.  Contact us for more information on becoming a vendor.
