and Regulations

Locations: The Battle Creek Farmer’s Market is held in Festival Market Square
at the corner of Jackson and McCamly Streets in downtown Battle Creek. A few
stall spaces are completely under cover, most are along the awning covered
walkway, and additional uncovered stalls are available.
The Bellevue Farmers Market is held in Washington Park in
Bellevue. At the current time, there are 10 covered spaces in the pavilion and
a virtually unlimited number of open air spaces in the park.

A space is assigned to each vendor. Partial season vendors and those who
should not assume to be in the same space throughout the season, however,
when possible they will be accommodated. All produce or products offered for
sale must be kept within the space allocated. Vendors shall supply their own
tables and other display articles. Producers are limited to a maximum of 2 paid
spaces. Brokers are limited to a maximum of 1 paid space. Fees must be paid
before a space can be used. Vendors are required to have signage at least 8
1/2 x 11” at their space, clearly displaying the vendors name or farm/business
name, address and telephone number. Vendors are responsible to keep their
space clean and to clean up before leaving the market. A fee will be charged to
the vendor if a space must be cleaned by the market manager, or any other
vendor, after the violating vendor leaves the market. Prices for any and all
products must be clearly displayed.
Vendors:
Producer: Any person offering for sale products such as, but not limited to,
fruits, nuts, vegetables, apiary products, maple syrup, poultry, meat, eggs,
flowers, and the like, of which at least 60% was produced and/or processed by
the seller.
Broker: Any person offering for sale products as defined above, of which at
least 60% was not produced and/or processed by the seller.
Products:
Vendors are encouraged to sell only Michigan grown and/or processed
products and are required to sell in accordance with all applicable local, state
and federal regulations. Non-Michigan produce and processed products are
permitted, however, a vendor will not be eligible to participate in the Project
FRESH (WIC) program if selling any non-Michigan produce at any time during
the season. Customers want and deserve quality products, please bring only
your best to market. Prices are to be clearly displayed on signs or marked on
each item to be sold.
Fees:
Seasonal $250 includes all market days for both Battle Creek and Bellevue
markets. Payable until July 4, 2007 with credit given for any fees paid up to that
date.
Daily Wednesday at Battle Creek $10 per day
Thursday at Bellevue $10 per day
Saturday at Battle Creek $ 15 per day
Weekly beginning June 4, 2008 $20 per week
Monthly May $55 per month June through October $65 per month
Authority: Should questions about rules arise, sole discretion shall be held by
the Market Master. The Market Master's decision (s) shall be final.
Miscellaneous:
Children accompanying parents are welcome, but please keep
them under control, and prevent their interference with customers and the flow
of traffic through the market. No pets are permitted in vendor spaces. These
rules and regulations may be modified and/or amended as needed without prior
notice.
